Ingredients

2 cups of Bean broth

2 cups of Cooked black beans

3 Fried and crumbled bacon strips

3 Tortillas sliced into strips and toasted

2 tablespoons of Oil or lard

1 Roasted, sieved, and strained tomato

1 Epazote sprig

½ Medium onion

Preparation

Step 1 : To prepare the black bean soup, start by frying the bacon until golden, then remove and crumble.

Step 2 : In the same fat, fry the onion.

Step 3 : Blend the beans in the blender and strain; then fry them in the same fat.

Step 4 : Another step involves separately frying the pureed and strained tomato, then add the beans with their broth, bacon, and a little water until a creamy texture is achieved.

Step 5 : Add the epazote, salt, and pepper, and cook over low heat for ten minutes.

Step 6 : Serve the soup strained and accompanied by golden tortilla strips.
